Cyno is one of character from Sumeru that has been released with Genshin Impact 3.1 update. For player who’s been reading Genshin Impact Manga may already known Cyno since he’s appear in the few last chapter where he help and bring Collei to Sumeru.
Since his appearance in the story, he’s ben shown as someone who’s scary, merciless, and not all that friendly. But from his character story, we finally get details that he love jokes, though most of his jokes is not funny: DAD JOKES!
After cracking his jokes, if no one is laughing he will start to explain the extent of his jokes. Tighnari and Collei seems already have enough of his joke as explained in their character story.
With the latest patch, we have Mondstadt Windblume Festival where we have our not so funny mahamatra along with Tighnari come as guest and guardian to Collei. And of course, since it’s Cyno, he bring his dad jokes on full force as shown below:
Mondstadt Have a Great Vay-iew-vyastra
First jokes right after his appearance in Mondstadt gate, and of course we have facepalmed response from Tighnari.
Cyno The Adventurer!
During their trip in Mondstadt, Cyno want them to take new identities, maybe to prevent Tighnari from going all out to usual researcher-botanist activity. Cyno new identity was “Adventurer Cyno, skilled desert explorer”, Tighnari’s was “technological consultant to the Treasure Hoarders”, and Collei’s was “traveling musician”.
And of course he will keep bringing up their new identity in the next conversation. Later Tighnari confirm this and said that Cyno will keep repeating his joke until the listener stop trying to resist.
And later in the camp, when Paimon mention about how different he is now compared to when he’s act as always-strict General Mahamatra in Sumeru, his reason was that he currently act as Cyno the Adventurer!
Paimon and Ground Nuts
Later he tell Tighnari that on their way to Mondstadt, he spotted something white walking on two legs. Was that Paimon?
Tighnari can’t really remember while Paimon reject that immediately and said that she always flying so that’s definitely not her, and even said that Cyno sight might be blocked by his hood.
And of course, here comes the joke. He thought Paimon might be snacked on too many local ground nuts.

Suprisingly enough, Albedo seems have different view of Cyno jokes. He love it, and later ask for more.
Collei Lily and Collei Flower
When Collei says her reason in Windblume Festival to give everyone her windblume flower, Cyno interrupt with another Joke. Hu suggest that Collei might want to call her windblume flower with name Collei Lily, or Collei Flower.
Tighnari look so done, and everyone expression is priceless in this part.
Pun With Everyone Names
In the Library, when Sucrose and Collei met Cyno and friends, he crack forced pun with everyone names, including his on it.
I can only “Sucrose” that they were “Collei”-ng in on someone. At “Lisa”, that’s as far as “Cyno”
For anyone who didn’t understand, that read:

Bonus: Paimon Ate the Bad News
And for the last one, it’s not from Cyno but from our little lavender melon, Paimon. Seems like Cyno dad jokes is contagius. Sucrose ask what’s the bad news and Paimon said “Paimon ate the bad news” with facepalm response from Traveler and Sucrose.
It’s not funny so it’s all Cyno fault.
This Windblume chapter sure show us more about Cyno and his interraction with close friend like Tighnari and Collei. Tighnari also said that Cyno shooting all this jokes means they think all of them as friend so it’s a good thing.
Expect more jokes from Cyno in the future.
