This iron chunk can be turned into a multitude of handy items in the hands of a skilled craftsman. Mineral ores’ presence on the surface usually indicates abundant ore veins underneath.
Usage
Unlike other forging material like Crystal Chunk, White Iron Chunk, and Starsilver. Iron Chunk are not used to forge craftable weapons. Instead, it’s used to forge low tier enhancement material and Adepti Seeker Stove.
Honestly, other than usage for Adepti Seeker’s Stove you probably won’t need it. Because low tier enhancement ore are barely used in the mid and endgame since they only give little weapon experience point.
How to Get Iron Chunk?
Unfortunately, this type of ore is not available to farm with expedition. So the only way to get them is to farm directly in the wild. Here’s some reliable location where you can get this ore:
Mondstadt
For Mondstadt, there’s only 1 recommended location. It’s located south of Whispering Woods, near Mondstadt front gate. This is location that Wagner, blacksmith of Mondstadt pointed out in early quest to find ore.
Liyue
Location Map 1: Wangshu Inn and Mingyun Village
Mingyun Village is an abandoned mining village located in Liyue. In this area you will find so many small mining cave full with ores. Not just Iron Chunk, but also ore and stuff like White Iron Chunk, Noctilucous Jade and Cor Lapis.
So by exploring around this place, besides farming iron chunk you can also run your weekly 100 Liyue Local Specialities quest.
Location Map 2 Guli Plains and Luhua Pool
This area covering Guili Plains and some part of Luhua Pool. There’s so many farming spot in this area. If you think it’s not worth it, you can skip the farthest and the one that require climbing.
Location Map 3: Tianqiu Valley and Part of Cujue Slope
This farming spot covering Tianqiu Valley and some part of Cuijue Slope. It’s good thing that the ore deposit is located near teleport waypoint.
Location Map 4: Mt Aozang, Qingyun Peak, and Natianmen
I don’t really have exact route for Mt Aozang part. Try to explore the spot with iron chunk icon on it and you are bound to found the deposit eventually.
And that’s the last location of Iron Chunk farming spot. I don’t think location for other region is needed because won’t need it that much, good luck
